Day 1: Fly into Cartagena
Welcome Dinner
Arrive via airport shuttle to the hotel.
Check-in at 2:00 pm
Meet everyone at the welcome dinner at one of the best restaurants in Cartagena

Day 2: City Tour and graffiti tour
Stroll the colonial streets and learn about the history of Cartagena and the AfroColombians who call it home. Learn history and sociopolitical attitudes through vibrant murals around the neighborhood.
Cartagena is as photogenic as you are so we'll make sure to have a photographer on hand to snap your pics.

Day 3: Palenque
Founded by an escaped enslaved king from The Congo, Palenque gained autonomy in the 1600s, becoming the first freed town in the Americas. Learn the history, dances, and unique creole language of the Palenqueros, and discover why Palenque is known as "Africa in Colombia", but also how it is the birthplace of pertinent Colombian culture.

Day 4: Island Hopping
Spend a half-day Island hopping around the beautiful Rosario Islands on a private and spacious boat. Visit the famous Playa Blanca beach and island hop.

Afternoon: Free time to explore

In the evening, we will gather for a goodbye dinner.


Day 5: Fly Medellin; Graffiti Tour
Catch a flight to the city of Eternal Spring. Spend the afternoon exploring the most colorful neighborhood in Medellin that used to be the heart of a violent conflict. The murals tell the story of resilience.
Day 6: Guatape/Glamping/AfroColombian Art class
Climb around 700 steps to the top of a famous rock and stroll through one of the most colorful towns in Colombia. ​
We'll have a boat tour through the peaceful reservoir before heading to the Glamping site.
In the evening you can relax or choose to participate in an Art history class with a glass of wine.

Day 7: Fly to Cali
Wake up to breakfast at the Glamping site and spend the morning recharging, swimming in the reservoir, or exploring the town again.

Day 8: City Tour/Fruit tasting tour
Walking tour to learn the history of Cali which includes a walk through downtown as well to a market where you can taste exotic fruits native to Colombia and eat a typical Cali lunch.


Day 9: Cocada Tour
Cali, Colombia has a bustling Afro-Colombian community with excellent food. We will travel to a small pueblo where we will learn how to make a traditional dessert made out of coconut from someone's grandma.

Why do you have to apply to attend this group trip?
This trip is a special mix of cultural immersion and direct involvement with AfroCololmbian community leaders and their projects. Participants will be interviewed to assess how their skills can benefit said projects and to set proper expectations for the trip. Yes, it is a fun trip, but also, participation in the tour does require people who are aligned with not only Yup! She Travels' mission, but also those of the Colombian community leader's.

Fly into Cartagena Airport code: (CTG) on day 1 and fly out of Cali, Colombia Day 10 Airport Code: (CLO)
Is there double occupancy available?
No. The package is based on single occupancy. Each traveler will have their own room and en-suite bathroom.
Who attends Yup! She Travels trips
We get a mixture of women who are first-time travelers, experienced travelers, and solo travelers who want to try groups. While the women often range in age and background, common themes are the desire to have a safe space to unapologetically be themselves, build connections with one another, and openness to new experiences and cultures.
What time should I arrive Cartagena?
Check-in is at 2:00 pm. Plan to arrive to Cartagena no later than 6 pm on the first day to ensure your attendance at the welcome dinner. Arrivals after 6 pm will have to arrange their own transportation to the welcome dinner.
Check-out is at 12:00 pm the final day of the trip.

This 10-day trip trip is a mixture culturally immersive experiences mixed with relaxation. Accommodations are stylish boutique-style villas/rooms. Dining options will range from high-end locations to local dining spots. Transportation will be comfortable and private.
